UMPSA Delegation Visits TJU

On December 5, Tianjin University welcomed a delegation from the University Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). Yuserrie bin Zainuddin. the President of UMPSA led the delegation. They were warmly received by TJU Vice President Gong Jinlong and representatives from the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, School of International Education and Office of International Cooperation.

Gong Jinlong extended a warm welcome to President Yuserrie and his delegation, conveying the greetings of TJU Party Secretary Yang Xianjin and President Jin Donghan. He introduced to the guests the history of TJU and its achievements in talent cultivation, discipline development and international cooperation, especially the education of international students in recent years. He expected that TJU and UMPSA will further enhance their cooperation in talent cultivation, research programs and building the ASEAN-China Network for Cooperation and Exchanges among Engineering and Technology Universities (ACNET-EngTech). He said that he looked forward to the smooth implementation of the student exchange program between the two universities and hoped that more and more UMPSA students have a chance to study at TJU.

Yuserrie expressed his gratitude to TJU for the warm reception. He noted that UMPSA attaches great importance to the close partnership with TJU. He introduced the development of UMPSA and the progress of the student exchange program. Yuserrie expressed the hope that the two universities would further expand the cooperation in short-term exchange of faculty and students, cultural communication and personnel training and deepen the partnership in the field of chemical industry, which helps enhance the competitiveness of the chemical industry in Malaysia.

During the visit, the delegation gained insights into Malaysian students’ study and living conditions at TJU by touring the laboratories of the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, the international students’ dormitory and the campus canteens.
